1.GENERAL SUMMARY:
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and budgeting work connected with the testing and maintenance of electrical distribution systems and transmission systems for industrial and utility clients.
- Provides technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of power generating plants, pumping plants, substations, transmission systems, and dispatching facilities throughout the Region.
- Provides technical assistance to field offices on engineering problems and guidance in operation and maintenance programs as to methods, procedures, costs, and standards to be used.
- Provide engineering support and coordination for all projects in the Region for design, fabrication, and installation of electrical equipment.
- Conducts periodic inspections and solves or recommends solutions to engineering problems, such as the adequacy of system protection, including relaying, control, and protective apparatus; system analyses involving performance, costs, characteristics of equipment, loads, energy flows, losses, etc.; systems disturbance analysis, studies to prevent outage and damage to equipment and to improve capacity: electrical testing, metering, communications, and other various problems

MAJOR DUTIES:
• Consult with clients to determine their needs and priorities.
• Coordinate and oversee testing and maintenance procedures
• Serve as primary contact for customers, including dispute resolution and emergencies
• Manage day-to-day operations of field engineers and performance of large-scale electrical maintenance contracts.
• Perform power quality surveys and various testing
• Deliver oral and written presentations and proposals for power quality projects.
• Conduct training and seminars for customers and peers

2. SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
Direct and manage staff of 20 full-time employees

3. NECESSARY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Minimum 15 years experience in electrical equipment testing and inspection, including high voltage and low voltage applications
• Proficiency in use of Doble Power Factor Test and many other test types of test equipment, including analysis of results.
• Thorough knowledge of all types of electrical equipment, installation procedures, and maintenance.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for coordinating highly technical portion of work associated with the testing and/or commissioning of electrical distribution and transmission substations for utility clients. Individual will provide direct supervision over company's startup personnel along with others suppliers such as contractor electricians and engineering staff or may assist company's commissioning agents. Individual needs to have a strong background in protection and control circuits along with the knowledge to test microprocessor based transmission relays such as Schweitzer, GE, Areva and ABB. Superior knowledge of computers is required along with an ability to perform automated relay testing by utilizing a laptop. Ability to write macros on Protest would be an adder.

MAJOR DUTIES
• Serve as highly technical person to perform relay commissioning.
• Consult with clients or company's commissioning agents to determine the customer’s needs and priorities.
• May need to assist in providing written procedures for switching, energization, isolation methods for testing and commissioning work.
• May need to assist in coordinating and overseeing substation technicians, electricians and serve as project manager (supervisory and non supervisory positions available).
• Serve as primary customer contact for specific projects.
• Professional presentation required in dealing with employees, clients and suppliers.
• Prevent unnecessary outages while working in Brownfield Substations or on any type of energized equipment.

Our client, one of the largest privately held international utility contracting firms, is currently seeking a Senior Director, Power Transmission, Distribution & Generation.

Position Summary: The Senior Director will have overall responsibility for the direction, development, profitability and growth of the East Region Power Transmission & Distribution business. Primary focus is on regimented, profitable growth through the award of Tier 1 through Tier 3 Transmission business, renewed and additional awards on distribution business; award of alternate power business and management mentoring. Anticipated annual business is $120 - $150 million.

Major Position Functions:

The Senior Director, Power Transmission & Distribution will have full P&L, safety, operations and administrative management responsibility for the line of business for the region.
The Senior Director will provide senior leadership to the entire assigned segments, and will demonstrate vision, experience and professional maturity.
The Senior Director will provide mentoring and skills transfer to his/ her direct reports.
The Senior Director will perform business development and sales activities for the area, both stand alone, and in conjunction with Regional and Corporate personnel, as well as building and enhancing strategic alliances with existing and new customers. Activities will be aligned with the region's overall goals and objectives as developed in both short and long term business plans for the region, and will support corporate initiatives in Wind Farm, Transmission & Distribution Markets.

Major Tasks - Directly perform or manage subordinates in these identified tasks:

Provide senior leadership and strategic direction to entire Line of Business (LOB) operations, demonstrating vision, experience and maturity.
Lead the development of Tier 1 - Tier 3 Transmission opportunities and staffing plans.
Provide mentoring and skills transfer to key East Region Power management. Proactively mentor employees for personal, career and company growth.
Assists the Director of Power Operations, VP of Operations and Regional Vice President with the development of strategic direction of the East Region Power Operations.
Business Development and Sales, both stand alone, and in conjunction with Regional and Corporate personnel.
Manage relationships with existing power customers, alliance partners and potential customers.
Participate in proposal and contract development, negotiations and alliance meetings.
Detailed contractual review to manage risks in scope, terms and conditions.
Develop performance and labor strategies to compete in new and existing markets. Provide consultative support for labor relations with the trade unions affiliated with this Line of Business.
Ownership of the Company's East Region and Power Operations Safety Program.
Ownership of East Region Peak Performance goals and QA plans, including formal auditing processes such as project pre-plans, project plans and post job reviews.
Host regular meetings with line of business staff to communicate goals and performance.
Comply with bid reviews in conjunction with area, regional and corporate requirements.
Review Work Order System (WOS) project set up and P&L tracking with all operations groups within the Line of Business.
Measure and monitor the progress of LOB towards meeting all stated goals, safety, quality & P&L. Communicate regularly with area operations staff.
Provide annual financial forecasts and business plans for LOB and prepare written reports for annual Corporate/ Region business review meeting.
Where appropriate, assure delivery of project deliverables, negotiate change orders and handle escalated billing and invoicing issues.
Fiscal responsibility for accuracy of the company's cost and financial reports. Final authority in yearly closing.
Participate in the claims management process with the East Region Claims Manager and Safety Manager.
Support Director of Power Operations and oversee equipment requirements for the line of business. Participate in annual equipment budget maintenance programs and disposition of assets.

Qualifications:

Experience & Skill Sets: 25 years or more in the power/ electric business with a minimum of 15 years in a management and leadership capacity. Must have a strong proven track record of sales, business and alliance development, project performance, management mentoring and employee development. Must be able to accurately process written documentation, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized, and able to interface with personnel at all levels. Must have proven track record in the development of successful proposals, alliances and teaming arrangements. The Director is required to travel to customer and project locations, as well as, to all of the East Region company offices.

Education: Minimum 4 year college degree or industry related courses and certifications. EE, MS, MBA, or Construction Management, Contracts Management and / or Project Management Training preferred.

Qualifications:
Experience & Skill Sets: 20 years or more in gas, water, electric, telecommunications and civil markets, with a minimum of 15 years in a management and business development / sales capacity. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and budgeting work connected with the testing, commissioning and maintenance of electrical distribution and transmission systems for utility clients. Provides assistance to operations manager on engineering support and guidance in operation and maintenance programs as to methods, procedures, costs, and standards to be used. Conducts periodic inspections and solves or recommends solutions to engineering problems, such as the adequacy of system protection, including relaying, control, and protective apparatus; system analyses involving performance, costs, characteristics of equipment, loads, energy flows, losses, etc.

MAJOR DUTIES
•Consult with clients to determine their needs and priorities. Provide written proposals for testing and commissioning work.
•Coordinate and oversee office through utilization of assistant and operations manager. Responsible for annual reviews and hiring of new personnel.
•Serve as primary contact for customers.
•Deliver oral presentations and written proposals for projects.
•Professional presentation required in dealing with employees, clients and suppliers.
•Overall sales, billing and profit responsibilities.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY
Manage staff of up to 10 full-time employees that include operations manager, assistant, engineers and field technicians. Office has ability to grow significantly beyond 10 personnel.

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
•Minimum 10 years experience in electrical equipment testing and inspection, including high voltage and low voltage applications
•Knowledge of types of testing, commissioning and maintenance of power equipment.
•Excellent management and supervisory skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Superior Safety record
•Broad experience with wide variety of electrical apparatus used in power industry, including transformers, breakers and switchgear.
•Experience with budget and profit/loss responsibilities
•Must be able to lift 70 lbs.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS

Description: Seeking a full time Sales Manager/Key Marketer with 10+ years experience in High Voltage electrical distribution, power related fields with 5+ year direct selling experience to end users, substation construction contractors and the electrical utility transmission and distribution markets. This position will require marketing company's electrical field engineering services to target clients in North America with national account responsibility. The sales responsibilities will include securing and management of client accounts, generation of proposals, and contract development.

Required skills are the ability to read and understand representative electrical drawings, development of proposals in Microsoft Excel and Word, and administration of a sales territory using CRM tools. BSEE or BSBA preferred, previous sales history with a testing firm a plus, strong client management skills required.

Extensive National travel will be required. Ideal base location will be Power Testing and Energization’s headquarters located in Vancouver Washington, but qualified individuals may operate out of company offices located in Freeport ME, St. Louis MO, Houston or Fort Worth TX.

JOB SCOPE

Person will be responsible for managing key commodities on behalf of the PPMV NAM SCM Group. Emphasis will be placed on developing a high performing SCM team, establishing preferred suppliers, understanding the cost structures of key commodities, insuring the timely delivery of material, monitoring and improving supplier performance, meeting annual cost reduction goals, leading/supporting strategic projects, implementing process improvements where appropriate, and meeting annual LCC targets.

REPORTS TO

Managing Director with matrix to the SCM Country Lead and NAM Division SCM Director

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and lead a high performing supply chain team
• Create employee development plans
• Conduct semi-annual employee performance reviews
• Establish a vision and outline a plan on how to get there
• Mentor/coach buyers to higher levels of performance
• Establish a succession plan for key SCM positions
• Monitor supplier performance and establish improvement plans as required
• Perform supplier assessments as required by the local business (shared objective with the local quality manager)
• Maintain a preferred supplier list in key commodity areas
• Insure the timely delivery of material
• Manage inventory levels consistent with local objectives
• Develop a deep understanding of commodity cost structures
• Develop cost models or cost methodologies that allow the buyers to predict the “should cost” of major purchases
• Understand the key drivers behind commodity cost structures (equipment cost, processing time, labor, etc)
• Execute strategic projects as required by the local business

• Support R&D in meeting cost targets for new product development efforts
• Improve working capital by extending payment terms with key suppliers

• Maintain standard SCM metrics that serve as a management tool for running the business on a daily basis (LCC, savings, supplier quality, supplier delivery, inventory, days payable outstanding (DPO), and stock-outs).
• Complete monthly reporting as required by management

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement SCM process improvements as required
• Participate on regional and global commodity teams as appropriate
• Share best SCM practices across all PPMV NAM sites
• Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping and assure compliance with all environmental regulations
• Adhere to all company compliance initiatives
• Insure the company is legally protected in all contracting (legal reviews, terms and conditions, etc)

EDUCATION

• Four-year college degree required.
• Technical degree preferred.
• Advance degree in business preferred

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated effectiveness as a buyer/senior buyer
• Minimum 2+ years SAP experience
• Proven leadership capabilities
• Excellent data analysis skills demonstrated

Engineering Manager

Scope: Development & Product Engineering

Familiarity/Preferred Background
• Circuit Breaker and Power Distribution Equipment applicable ANSI, IEEE and NEMA Standards, at least five years experience
• Experience with AutoCad and 3D Parametric Modeling (SolidWorks) or other engineering software tools
• Knowledge of ERP software systems
• Management and Leadership of Engineering Department, at least three to five years
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to assess problems and direct team to include priorities, scheduling.
• Nuclear quality assurance to include 10CFR50 appendix B, 10CFR21 and ANSI/ASME NQA-1 experience
• ISO 9000:2000
• Six Sigma certification
• BS degree in Engineering, PE preferred.
• Able to travel up to 30% of the time, on short notice

Essential functions
• Manage aftermarket product development to include reverse geometrical engineering of previously installed product, prototype construction, applicable ANSI testing, and industrialization.

• Manage product support engineering staff to insure timely response and thorough completion of activities resulting from customer complaints and inquiries, product improvements and upgrades and Product Support Center issues.

• Provide engineering support for product application needs.

• Manage product improvement projects.

• Support current product lines.

• Manage accurate and timely entry of routings and bills of material in the ERP system.

• Insure that measurements are established which adequately reflect the progress of the organization towards achievement of the company goals.

• Work very closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure Customer Satisfaction and timely completion of customer specific engineering based projects.

• Participate with QA and purchasing regarding new vendor prototype testing.

• Special projects and corporate responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.
